Terms and Conditions

   

Thank you for choosing Millie Moo Grooming to groom your dog. Whilst in my care, your dog will be treated with trust, respect, and care.

My priority is the comfort of your dog. By choosing to use Millie Moo Dog Grooming, all pet parents must agree to follow any advice given by the groomer to help your dog/s become as comfortable as possible with the grooming process.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

PHOTOGRAPHS

Millie Moo Dog Grooming may take before and/or after photographs of your dog(s) for training and development purposes or marketing and promotional activities.

Please note that photos are taken of matted dogs, fleas, ticks, evidence of any injuries on arrival or any unfortunate injuries during the groom.

MATTING

Millie Moo Dog Grooming practice welfare over vanity.

Where a dog is heavily matted, if the mats cannot be brushed out without causing them pain or stress within 15 minutes then a decision will be made to clip off the coat. I will text or call to discuss with you, if contact can't be made i will make a decision based on your dog's best interest and following The Animal Welfare Act 2006. Extra charges will apply.

Matted coats can cause the following problems.

· Skin irritation caused by dirt and parasites under the matted fur.

· Sores and hair loss: as mats get tighter, they can eventually pull out of the skin causing bald spots and sore skin.

· It is not uncommon to find pre-existing conditions such as hot spots, sores and other skin irritations once a matted coat is removed. There is a chance that your dog's skin may become irritated from being clipped so close.

· Ear bruising or hematoma bleeding due to excessive head shaking after removal of mats.

Millie Moo Dog Grooming does not accept any responsibility for any issues that may be uncovered or occur during the de matting process.

Should the dog need veterinary care during or after the procedure the client agrees to pay all veterinary costs.

Please note that I must keep coat matting for a period of up to 6 months, this fur is bagged, named, and dated. Photographic evidence of matting will be taken and stored.

FLEAS

If your dog has fleas I need to know prior to the appointment. This is to prevent cross contamination with other dogs, and allows me to get the required products ready, however rescheduling the appointment may be necessary to avoid them passing them on to other dogs. I reserve the right to refuse to groom a dog with fleas until they have been successfully treated.

If fleas are found during the groom, I will treat your dog with a flea shampoo which will kill any fleas on the body. However, you will need to treat your home, bedding, carpets, car etc, and use a good quality flea product. You will incur an additional fee, to cover the cost of the flea shampoo, and products needed to protect my salon. A non-negotiable £20.00 flea surcharge will apply in addition to the grooming fee for this appointment.

LATE ARRIVAL FEES

Millie Moo Dog Grooming works to a strict time schedule, due to offering a more personalised service. Some dogs can become incredibly stressed, nervous, and reactive in the presence of another dog which may set their confidence back. Therefore, if you are more than 15 minutes late arriving for your dog's appointment, I may not have time to complete the groom, and it will count as a missed appointment. Please contact me if you are running late.

If you do not collect your dog at the agreed time a late fee will apply. This is charged at £5 per 10 minutes (from 10 mins late).

Please note we may have to adjust collection times during a groom if it is taking longer than expected due to coat condition or behaviour.

MISSED APPOINTMENTS

If you miss an appointment with no prior warning, the  full charge of the groom will be applied, and the full cost of future grooms will be taken upon booking.

CANCELLATIONS

Please give a minimum of 48 hrs notice for cancellations where possible. Cancellations are sometimes unavoidable; I understand life happens. Please be aware that if you do need to cancel you may not be able to get your dog in for several weeks as a waiting list system is used.

Less than 48 hours notice will incur a 50% charge of the full groom.

Less than 24 hours notice will incur a 100% charge of the full groom.

ACCIDENTS

Although I will take the upmost care of your dog whilst in my charge, accidents can happen. Dogs are liable to sudden movements, and I cannot be held responsible should this happen. You will be given a full explanation of any injuries when you collect your dog, including advice for further action if needed.

AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOUR

Behaviour is always monitored throughout a groom, and I always do everything possible to help your dog remain calm and comfortable throughout. However, if your dog becomes aggressive during the groom, I will stop the groom, and the full amount will be payable. On collection of your dog, I will discuss options to help your dog overcome fear-based aggression during grooms. Muzzles will only be used where there is a benefit, for example if your dogs nails are overgrown and causing discomfort. The safety of myself and the dog is paramount, therefore I have the right to refuse any dog or client if I consider necessary. A handling fee may be applied and the full grooming cost will still be charged.

COMPLAINTS

Prior to the groom, an initial consultation will take place to discuss how you want your dog to be groomed. In the event that you are not satisfied with the groom, please communicate this to me as soon after the groom as possible so that where appropriate it can be rectified (this may incur additional cost if you have changed your mind from the consultation agreement).

SOCIAL MEDIA

If you are happy with the way I have groomed your dog, both in terms of how he or she looks, or the caring way in which I treat all dogs, please feel free to post photos on social media, including facebook or google.

If you are dissatisfied with the groom, please discuss with me any issues you may have before posting negative comments on social media. In this way, I can respond directly to you.

RESTRAINTS

Whilst your dog is being groomed, restraints will only be used to prevent injuries (such as falling off the table). Restraints are not used on all dogs, especially those that are happy to sit or stand quietly on the table with minimum movement. Your dog will NOT be left unsupervised on the table with or without restraints. If you would prefer restraints to be used, please let me know.

PREGNANCY

Millie Moo Dog Grooming will not groom pregnant dogs. Doing this could put them under stress that may harm their unborn puppies, i also recommend leaving a groom until the puppies have been weaned.

DATA PROTECTION

As part of the Data Protection Act, it is now necessary for me to inform you of the information I keep about you and your dog, how it is used and stored, and to receive permission for specific information to be stored and used.

The pet parent information form completion on registration with Millie Moo Dog Grooming is kept in hard copy format only and stored safely in the house. No one other than Millie Moo Dog Grooming staff have access to these forms.

The following information is transferred to the Dog Grooming Record Card:   details given about the dog, your name and mobile number and veterinary practice. These cards are also held in hard copy format only, and you can ask to view at any time. I keep a record of what blades and comb attachments have been used along with details of areas the dog dislikes and any training methods I have found useful.

Your name, dogs name and mobile telephone number is entered onto my Mobile Telephone to enable me to communicate with you about appointments, and to advise you when your dog is ready for collection. No other details are held on my mobile phone other than your appointments. My mobile phone is protected by face recognition and password.

The only other information held electronically is your email address. This is used to send any updates about the business. My iPad is protected by finger print recognition and is always kept in a locked cabinet in the house when not in business hours.

Parking

Please park across the front wall of our property. Cars are parked at their owners risk. Millie Moo Dog Grooming accepts no responsibility for any loss and damage. Please make sure when getting your dogs from and to the car they are always on a lead and where possible a secure fitted harness as my salon is on a main road. If you would like your car parked off the road, there is a parking spot that we own (next to the water station) to the right hand side of the property. Millie Moo Dog Grooming does not accept responsibility for any issues that may happen when getting your dog to and from the property.

DECLARATION:

By signing the pet parent Information Form I hereby agree that Millie Moo Dog Grooming may groom my dog based on the client/groomer consultation on arrival at the salon. Should it be necessary to alter these arrangements, or even discontinue the groom due to unforeseen issues with dogs coat, behaviour or health, I authorise Millie Moo Dog Grooming to proceed as deemed necessary in my dogs best interest, and the safety of the groomer, and I will be liable for any additional costs incurred.

The information I have provided above, is to the best of my knowledge correct.

I have read and agree to Terms and Conditions of this contract, and confirm that I will always raise any concerns I have with my dog (s) health and well-being, and the type of groom we desire, with Millie Moo Dog Grooming each time we come for grooming on our consultation of the groom.
